Description:
Overall, Soul is a typical example of a Lucario. Most of his body is a cross between navy blue and azure. His forepaws, lower legs, 'shoulder, and 'mask' are all a deep jet black. Much of his torso is a mix of the color of cream and white, and it is lined at the waist by a black band. A white spike comes out of the upper part of each of his wrists, and a third is located on his chest. The one thing that sets Soul apart though is his eyes. Rather than being red, they are a piercing blue (much like Rain's eyes). They are extremely clear and bright, and seem to look into your very soul. His body is covered with scars he has recieved over time, but most are well hidden beneath his fur.
Soul is exceptionally tall for a Lucario, reaching almost five feet. He weighs about 130 pounds, although most of his weight comes from muscle. Soul combines power with agility; he moves very fast, and his physical and special attack is high. Although some of this is natural, most of it is due to hard training and persistence. Like all Lucario, Soul has to ability to see aura and to use it, although he is better at this than most. He is also able to use telepathy, which can be understood by humans and Pokemon. Soul's telepathy can be open, meaning anyone can here him, or it may be specific, directed towards only certain people or Pokemon.
Personality:
Soul is, in general, a loner. He usually keeps away from others as much as he can, and doesn't talk much. He's hard to find unless you know exactly where to find him, and he's often described as mysterious. He enjoys his freedom, and he doesn't like others getting into his personal space. Although he doesn't fear humans (unless he has a good reason to fear a certain on), he keeps away from the for the most part. However, just because you don't see him doesn't mean he's not there. Often, he'll watch others like a spy to learn information. He doesn't do it because he's bad though; he does it so he can better protect the Tree. For centuries, Soul guarded the Tree, almost like an official guardian of it. He knows almost every part of it, and can get around better than almost anyone else. He would do anything to guard his home, as if to pay the Tree back for the shelter it has provided for him. This is due to in part Soul's strict sense of honor and justice. He believes in fair play, and would never fight dirty. He also thinks that what's done should be repaid, which is part of why he protects that Tree. He also believes that the strong should protect the weak, and you should never take advantage of someone less powerful than yourself. Soul is almost never biased, and is a good judge. He would never base a conclusion completely on emotion, and does almost everything from facts.
In the rare chance that Soul does come across someone, he will often act very polite, almost to an extent that he seems cold. He generally hides his emotions, even from himself. A lot of times he'll push down his feelings and ignore them, something he is often told he shouldn't do. He's extremely calculating, and almost always makes plans before he acts. Soul very rarely acts based on his heart, and is centered around his mind. This makes him quite intelligent and clever, but he sometimes needs to just let go of the planning and just let instinct and his feelings take over. Soul is a 'realist', not liking wishful fantasies and best-case scenarios. Although he isn't exactly a pessimist, Soul is extremely logical, basing his conclusions on fact rather than gut-feeling and hope.
In his small circle of 'friends', though, Soul can be a bit more loose. Although he still is quite formal, he lets his feelings show more often. He's also extremely loyal to anyone he deems to be his friend and would protect them even if it meant giving up his own life. He doesn't easily make friends though, and his loyalty is only given to very few. If someone is in danger though, Soul will help, although only if the situation is not too dangerous for himself. He isn't selfish; he just doesn't want to get into a fight he knows he can't win. However, in these cases, Soul will often be nagged by guilt; like all his feelings though, Soul will usually push thoughts emotions back and keep going.
History:
Soul has lived at the Tree for centuries; too many, in fact, for him to count. He has watched generations go by, and changes made to the Kingdom of Cameron. But one thing that never seemed to change was Soul himself. He remained a loner in hiding, the phantom that no one was sure actually existed. And that was just the way he liked it. He didn't need anyone else. All he needed was himself and the Tree.
But one day, that wasn't enough. Soul was discovered by a trainer, who immediately began to try and catch the rare Pokemon. He was attacked by almost all of the trainer's Pokemon at once, and was severely injured. In fact, Soul almost died that day. But just when he thought it was over, that he would be killed, or worse, captured. But it didn't happen. A girl by the name of Rain stepped in just in time, taking on the trainer and saving the Lucario. Bring the severely wounded Soul back to her cottage, Rain took care of the Lucario with some help from Lilian.
When Soul was finally completely healed, he swore his loyalty to Rain, saying he owed it to her because she had saved his life. Although Rain protesting, saying she was just trying to help, Soul would not be dissuaded. Soul now calls Rain 'Lady Rain', much to her annoyance, and often visits her at her cottage. He acts as her connection to the Tree of Beginning, and keeps her updated on how things are going there. He will also occasionally battle with her if needed, and will for the most part listen to anything she says. Although Soul acts like Rain is his 'master' (which she objects to every time), the two could be called friends. He is extremely protective of her, and would never let anything hurt her if he could help it.
Other:
The reason Soul's centuries old but still in good shape is because Lucario have a kind of 'legendary' status, and can live for a long time. At least, that's my explaination for it.
RP Example:
Pain.
That was all he knew. Pain, pain, pain. There was nothing else.
Or was there?
Relief. It was small, but through the stinging heat of his wounds it seemed like the sweetest thing in the world. The Lucario groaned slightly, trying to blink open his eyes. A blurry figure was over him, bright blue eyes similar to his own the most prominent part.
<"...Who?..."> He rasped, trying to focus. The Lucario felt a finger on his snout.
"Shush," the figure whispered. "You need rest."
And then he felt himself slipping back into unconsciousness, those blue eyes that last thing in his mind.
~x~
He didn't know how long it was until he finally woke up again. The Lucario blinked open his eyes, groaning slightly as he sat up. He looked around, confused. He was on a bed in a small, dark room; a blanket had been over him, slipping off when he'd sat up. A small drawer was at the bedside, a glass filled with water sitting on the smooth wooden surface. A window was near him, the curtains drawn closed. A closed door stood across the room from the window. His wounds felt much better, and he didn't ache as much anymore. But who had helped him?
Reaching back in his memory, the Lucario remembered the figure who had been over him, the one with the bright blue eyes and a feminine voice. Was that who had taken care of him?
Before he could think further, the door opened, sending a flood of light into the darkened room. A tall girl walked in, a tray with food held in her hands. He immediately recognized those startling blue eyes; this must be her. And...she had such as strong aura. It was one he'd rarely felt, even in other Lucario and Riolu. Did that mean she could use aura?
As she noticed the Lucario was up, she smiled, walking to the bed. She placed the tray on the drawer and sat down on a small stool by the bed. "Great, you're up," she said, pleased. "I was getting worried. You've been out for a long time." The Lucario just stared, not sure what to say, tilting his head slightly.
The girl blushed. "Sorry. I'm rambling, aren't I? Here, you must be hungry." Picking up a piece of bread from the tray, she offered it to the Lucario. He took it with slowly, gazing at it for a short while.
<"Thank you,">[/i] he finally said, lifting the bread up and beginning to eat. The girl smiled again. "No problem. I thought you'd be hungry. So, what's your name?"
The Lucario slowly finished the piece of bread. <"I...have no name,">[/i] he replied slowly. The girl frowned.
"Really?" she asked. The Lucario nodded, and her frown deepened for a second before she brightened up and smiled again. "Then I'll give you a name!" The girl looked at the Lucario closely with her blue gaze, the eyes seeming to pierce into the Lucario's soul.
"Hm..." she murmured. "I know!" The girl smiled brightly. "Your name can be Soul!"
Soul. That...was a nice name. Yes...that would be good.
<"Thank you,">[/i] the Lucario -- no, Soul now -- replied, bowing his head.
The girl smiled. "Do you like it?" Soul nodded, and the girl's smile grew wider. "Great. I'm Rain, by the way."
Soul tilted his head. <"Rain...">[/i] He repeated. <"You...saved me?">[/i]
Rain cocked her head and nodded slowly. "Yeah...I mean, that guy looked like he was about to kill you," she expanded. "I couldn't let that happened."
Soul stared at Rain, blinking his bright blue eyes. <"...Then I owe you my loyalty,">[/i] he declared. <"You saved my life. Now I owe it to you.">[/i]
Rain's eyes widened. "What?" she exclaimed, shocked. "No, it's fine! Really! You don't have to do that! I mean, it's not like just since I saved your life I own it or something!"
Soul tilted his head. <"But you saved my life,">[/i] the Lucario repeated. <"Nothing I can do other than serving you can repay that...Master.">[/i]
At the title, Rain looked horrified. "Please don't call me that," she pleaded. "My name is Rain. That what everyone calls me, and you can call me that too," she insisted.
<"Very well...Lady Rain,"> Soul replied gravely, causing the girl to groan and face-palm.
"You should get some more rest," Rain sighed finally, gently pushing the Lucario back down and putting the blanket over him. "You're not completely healed yet, and the more you rest the faster you'll recover. Besides," she muttered, "Maybe then you'll come to your senses and stop thinking like this."
<"If that is what you command,">[/i] Soul said slowly, gazing up at Rain, two sets of clear blue eyes locking. Rain sighed again, standing up and handing the Lucario a small pill.
"Here. Eat this," the girl directed. "It'll help you sleep and it's good for your healing.
The Lucario sat up and reached out, taking the pill and picking up the glass of water. <"As you wish, Lady Rain.">[/i] Soul put the pill in his mouth and drank the water, swallowing before he lay down again. Already he could feel the drowsiness taking over, blurring his vision.
Rain walked to the door, turning back only once as she looked back at the Lucario with a sad expression on her face. "Sweet dreams, Soul," she whispered before walking out and shutting the door once more.
And then everything was dark once more.
