Charon meets his match(Star)

Charon raced steadily through the darkness of the forest, past massive trees, efore stopping and panting, getting up on his hind legs, crescent ears twitching as his amber eyes gazed around the area...

It wasn't long ago when the young raichu reached a revelation. Soul... That lucario said he saw chus in this area... And yesterday, Charon saw a pikachu and a raichu. Although Charon didn't get to talk much to the other chus before they left him, it left him energetic.

He had been searching in the forest... He couldn't believe he didn't think to look here sooner... He almost wouldn't have found it without Soul's help... But he was following a scent, a stale scent it may have been, but it was clearly a chu. It made sense, this place was seperated and hidden from human settlements.

Ignoring the glowing blue crystals that seemed to dot the forest, Charon moved steadily on... And here he thought he was going to move on and continue his search elsewhere. But now he didn't...

Maria walked slowly through the hidden forest, her black tip ears twitching alittle as she looked around and smiled. She was findly by herself, no mother to tell her what to do and no brother to cry every time she won a game. It was a new adventure to her, more exciting then sitting around the old tree and a much better place to hide from those trainers then anywhere else.

Maria stopped moving for a moment, getting down to the ground on all fours to smell a flower and let out a heavenly sigh. "I wish all the flowers smelled like this one." She thought, bringing herself up right again before looking around with one ear lowered.
For a split second, she thought she could hear panting and then the sound of someone running but she shook her head.

<"Nah...It's just the wind."> She blinked her eyes for a moment before adding with a small laugh, <"Or maybe a Mankey!">. Nodding to herself, she started walking again with her curved-like tail moving side to side and slowly sung a tune from what her mother sang to her when she was a pichu. The Song of Love.

Charon ~ level 70

Charon looked thoughtful as he surveyed his surroundings... Where would his kind congregate at? Herds tended to be hidden in upper branches of trees... But the young raichu didn't see such a thing. He would need to keep going until he picked up a scent or heard something... And keep aware... predators liked unaware chus.

As Charon was getting to get ready to move on, his crescent ears tilted toward a foreign sound.

After a pause, The raichu's amber eyes widened in amazement... It was a song... No words to it... But the sheer beauty of the voice didn't require words. It was more like a lullaby or love song, something a mother would coo to her young ones.

Charon steadily got on all fours, ears and eyes alert as he cautiously stalked toward the wondrous sound, that for some reason caught his attention so instinctively.

Finally, when Charon reached the edge of a clearing, he peeked through the bushes, and his breathe caught in his throat. Singing in the middle of the clearing was a pikachu.

A female obviously. The shape of her tail and lighter build was evidence to this. She had silky golden fur, obviously that was paid attention to during grooming. Whe her back was turned Charon could make out the different formation of her stripes on her back. She had a slightly more curved figure than a male would have had as well, who were slightly more stout.

For a while, Charon just stared in shock. He could hardly believe what he was seeing... And the pikachu was different than the one he saw before with the other raichu. Realizing that his heart was beating erratically, the male raichu shook his head with self disgust. Get a hold of yourself man...

But how to introduce himself?... He would have to be careful. She may take offense at his presence very easily...

Wait a minute... Charon narrowed his amber eyes... A dark shape was looming behind the pikachu... Steadily getting closer... Charon's neck hair rose at the sight... From here, as his amber eyes adjusted to the gloom, he could see a massive seviper coiling back, long fangs dripping with venom, red eyes narrowed cruely... It was going to eat her... he realized... He could see the hunger in it's gaze.

"{Look Out!!!}" He cried in his kind's native tongue. Using agility, Charon pumped electricity in his muscles, making them stronger as he shot through the clearing in a blur, sparking and crackling like an ballistic missile engulfed in blue electricity. Bolt tackle...

He slammed into the vicious serpent, lighting up the dark forest in a brilliant white flash.

Maria- level 37


Maria was unaware of what was behind her but before she could move another step, a voice that she could not understand spoke out and soon followed by a bright flash of light.

Thinking quickly, she used Quick attack to move out of the bright light and headed to a nearby tree with her eyes wide with fear. Reaching the tree, she turned around with her curved-like tail high in the air and small sparks of electricity escaped her red cheeks.

"What...Just happened?" She thought, still clueless on what was going on. She kept her stance just a moment longer, watching as the dust and light had cleared to give her full sight and soon saw two pokemon she had never seen before.

One was on the ground, it was long and looked like the Ekans that she had fought before but much longer. The other pokemon was one she had seen once before, maybe her father? She couldn't really tell but bringing herself up on her hind legs,
she wondered if this pokemon was actully..kind.

"Don't be so stupid...He has someone..Right?" She thought, her black tipped ears twitching alittle and wonder showed in her small black eyes.{"Who are you?"} She spoke in her language that only pikachus knew and slowly walked into view with her tail straight out behind her.

Charon ~ level 72

The raichu stared down at his charred, smoking remains of his defeated opponent... It was rather overkill to use boltackle, but he didn't have another move that could be used quick enough.

Charon was still a little agitated, sparks came from his cheek pouches as he gazed at the gaping mouthed seviper... He disdained killing... It was just hunting to live... But we have to resist if WE want to live. Charon thought neutrally.

{Who are you?}

Charon jumped a little at the sound, though he reminded himself to stay calm... The female pikachu... Thats right... Though she sounded like she was talking to herself more than him, though Charon couldn't tell.

The raichu turned toward the smaller pikachu, who seemed to not unperturbed at all by his appearance.

<"Hello.">

Charon gritted his teeth a little nervously and watched the ground. <"Um... Hello."> He said curtly, though this was due to his nervousness... he was never a brilliant conversationalist anyway.

Maria didn't know what to make of this pokemon, tilting her head to her left side and blicked. He was differnet then her father, more built to fight and defend, taller then her father and much more tougher too.

Bringing her head up again, she smiled and looked at the now dead snake.<"Thank you for saving me. Sometimes I just get caught up with my song, that I don't noice anything."> She said, still smiling and turned her head back to the pokemon.

<"So what's your name? I haven't seen your type since my father left me."> Maria added, quite cheerfully.

Charon ~ level 73

Charon glanced at the cheerful pikachu, returning a small smile of his own. He couldn't help it, her happiness was contagious. {"My name? Oh. It's Charon."} Yep... Same name given to him by one of the kids... The boy who trained him... It stood for something a long time ago, but the raichu couldn't remember it. {"And your welcome miss?..."}

{"My name? Oh. It's Charon."}

"Charon, What a nice and strong name." Maria thought, her eyes looking into Charon's and then looked away with a small smile as well.

{"And your welcome miss?..."}

{Maria....My name is Maria.} She spoke with a quiet voice, turning her head back to Charon and still keeping her smile, nodded.{So...are you a wanderer too? Or do you live here?} She asked, tilting her head to one side and scrached her head with one paw.

Charon ~ level 74

Charon mulled over the name. Maria... Maria... Maria... It was a nice name he concluded. He then tilted his head to face the pikachu. "{Me? In a way I suppose... I'm not really from around here actually. I was a nomad... Nowhere was really my home.}"

{"A nomad, Huh?"} Maria questioned, more to herself then to the Raichu and slowly turned away from Charon with her curved-like tail laying staright on her back. It was odd to her, how she would meet another chu that was different then the ones she had seen or talked to. But then again, she was always the one who ran into trouble or into someone kind. Thinking alittle more, she turned to face the Raichu again and smiled.

{"Do you mind if I be with you for a while? If that's ok with you....I mean, If you don't want me too.."} She trailed off, thinking that she would only be bugging him but still kept her smile in both wonder and worry.

Charon ~ level 76

The raichu just stared thoughtfully at Maria as she turned away from him, seemingly in thought. When the female pikachu turned around to face Charon once again, he was visibly shocked by what she had to say.

{"Do you mind if I be with you for a while? If that's ok with you....I mean, If you don't want me too.."}

Charon's fur went warm before he snapped out of it. She didn't mean to imply THAT. "{You mean... Travel together?}" He asked, mulling over it. He was silent before finally saying with a small smile, "{Sure why not?}" He would enjoy the company.

Maria~level 39


"{You mean... Travel together?}"

Maria's tail twitched alittle, aware of what she had said but also the word that kept running through her mind. "Together...yea, Travel together. But would he?" She thought, a hint of fear showed in her eyes as the silence fell over them like a fog.
She was about to say something else, but what Charon said next made her words melt away.

"{Sure why not?}"

Maria froze, her mouth was wide open and her tail nearly dropped to the ground. She was in shock, clearly no one had ever said the words yes, or sure to her before being that she was so cheerful. But Charon was different then the others, much different and knew that her mind, Charon was special.

{"Really!"} She Findley spoke, closing her mouth quickly with her cheeks blushing. {"I mean..Thank you."} She added, looking up to the tree tops and let out a long sigh.
["So where do you want to go?"} She asked, nearly jumping in excitement and tried her best to stay still.

Charon ~ level 77

["So where do you want to go?"}

Charon looked thoughtful as he studied the dark night sky. "{We should shelter and sit for the night... Maybe when we find someplace you and I could talk to eachother more... But I don't like being out in the open when a seviper just attacked.}" Charon pointed out as he glanced at the charred reptile.

He smiled sheepishly at Maria. "{Did you have someplace you were staying? My old den is quite a ways from here...}"

Maria thought for a moment, her left ear twiching alittle and findley nodded with a smile.
{"Yes, I was just heading back to an cave den. Which I think that snake was living in at the time but got mad at me. Because I used Thunder on it."} She said, laughing and turned around with her tail flat on her back.

{"Well, Follow me."} She added, taking of running on all fours with her tail out straight.

Charon ~ level 78

Charon just watched in shock as she sprinted away with her last comment... She was kidding... Right?... "{That would explain why it looked so mad...}" He whispered to himself as he too got on all fours and followed Maria closely.
