It was beautiful out this early morning. Sunlight filtered through the upper branches of the trees, filling the Emerald forest in a gray light. It was still cold out... And the grass and plant life on the forest floor was a dull gray or brown. Still... There was life this morning. Pidgey and other bird pokemon chirped merrily as they flew around, the contagious good mood brought a sense of hope in this dark and gloomy winter.
Charon walked steadily, keeping his paws silent as he walked on all fours, occasionally standing on his hind legs to get a better view on his surroundings. He and Maria have been traveling for a few days, looking for a herd of chus. Charon secretly thought such a thing was not here, but slowly as the days passed, he started learning he didn't care. He was longer lonely...
Maria was a good friend. Her cheerful and happy demeanor was contagious, and although the male raichu didn't show it on the outside much, he did indeed feel and enjoy it. They talked a lot during their travels... Favorite food was discussed, as well as activity and dare he say it, jokes... He was a serious guy, such things weren't like him.
But life of solitude had left it's mark on him... Maria was still asleep in their makeshift den in the area for the moment. Charon needed time to himself... For several reasons... He needed to think... Maybe forage for a bit and bring something back for the female pikachu companion before she woke up.
But more importantly, he needed to discharge. The raichu hadn't done so for a while, and he was starting to notice. His muscle mass was getting thicker than normal, and he felt his mind become more and more aggressive... He could control it so far, but he needed to expel the extra electricity that built up over time while he ad the chance.
The raichu eventually found a quiet clearing... Good... noone was around. Charon walked purposefully forward until he was dead center. He then moved his thunderbolt shaped blade on the end of his tail and stuck into the ground with a dull thud. Charon took a deep breathe, and with a strange humming in the air, started to gradually discharge, sparks occasionally coming off his tail. He slowly closed his amber eyes as he did so... Not knowing that someone was watching him, and may have been planning to attack him.

Nanali~ Level 21
Snow. How Nanali hated snow. During the winter months that she'd spent with her parents when she was a child was when her loathing had been planted within her. All day every day she and her family had spent the first hours of the day cleaning snow off the family tree. As members of the Treecko family it was their jobs to care for and tend to the tree that they lived in, and snow was a huge problem. The markings of a successful tree gecko was the ability to keep one's tree healthy and green during the winter months, so as much as Nanali hated shoveling snow, it was necessary. Still, it was not fun, brushing snow off of every branch and leaf, breaking any ice that had formed on the tree, shoveling snow from around the trunk, then watering the tree to ensure it didn't suffer from dehydration stress. But in result, her tree was healthy and greener than those around it, much to her pride.
But now she was not at her tree or anywhere near it. No, she had finished caring for her tree hours ago and had eaten a meager breakfast of winter rations (dried berries and nuts that had been picked during the fall). Now she was hunting, hunting for a fight- and she saw the perfect opponent. There on the forest floor was an unsuspecting Raichu. The Grovyle's fists clenched at the thought of that other infuriating chu that had scorched her so badly with his revolting thundershock attack. No more would she fall prey to such electric dangers; she was stronger now, evolved even- she could handle this. Narrowing her eyes Nanali focused, concentrated. She focused on calling the trees to her aide, willing the leaves themselves to fight for her. She though of her home tree and all the love and care she had put into making it last the winter, and soon she felt the presence of nature itself at her back. Finally, she released the energy, throwing a barrage of razor-edged leaves at the Raichu in the clearing. The Grovyle let out a feral yell from the rush of power to her head, but already she could feel her elemental power waning. No matter- most of her attacks were physical anyway, Leaf Storm was one of the only moves she knew that wasn't.

Charon ~ level 89
The raichi sighed. This was taking a while, and he didn't like being exposed... Still it had to be done, otherwise he would be terrorizing the locals with his uncontrollable aggression.
Charon slowly opened his eyes curiously, crescent ears twitching. He was picking up a very faint rustling sound in the area... He widened his amber eyes in alarm, and his senses went into high alert when he heard a battle cry and several razor leaaves hurtling toward the clearing and his position, the eerie whirring of the natural blades proved their sharpness.
Using his battle reflexes, the young raichu quickly underwent an agility, his orange form blurring as he dodged the attack, but one leaf still nicked his forehead, drawing a thin line of blood. As the dust in the clearing disappeared, Charon laid on all fours several yards away from an area full of the bladed leaves and glared up at Nanali with amber eyes, electricity sparking from his yellow cheeks. He quickly wiped the warm red liquid from his forehead, growling as he did so.
Normally, Charon would have been more thoughtful and cautious... Certainly not as rage filled or bloodthirsty... But the raichu was feeling the adrenaline of battle, and his electricity was starting to build up instinctively. He didn't have enough time to discharge, and he felt it build up in his muscles, activating them, making him stronger... But also hazing his mind with newfound aggression. Electricity was his element, and it a chaotic element. Akin to fire, it did not flow. It spread out unpredictably, and when controlled, it built up pressure, looking for a discharge... Nanali would be the discharge.
But in Charon' current mind, who cared? This plant head wanted a fight, then Charon would dish it out to her and serve. The raichu made sure the grovyle caught his eager grin before the raichu stood up on his hind legs, electricity sparking and hissing off of his body, bathing the clearing in a white light around him. "< You looking for a fight? Very well then... I dodged your leaves... Lets see you dodge this you overgrown lizard!>" The raichu then unleashed a large torrent of electricity... This wasn't a puny thundershock... This was a high level thunderbolt, capable of engulfing part of the tree Nanali was perching on and singing it to a crisp.

Nanali~ Level 23
Nanali hissed as practically her entire Leaf Storm missed. Oh well- with an attack that powerful it was bound to take practice to control. Still, it didn't hide the fact that this chu was powerful, and angry. Thankfully the Grovyle knew Quick Attack or she would've never leaped out of the tree in time. Nanli then leaped from branch to branch, tree to tree, just to keep moving. <"Overgrown lizard? Ha! At least I'm not a fat rat!"> The Grovyle then used the built up momentum to launch at the Raichu and spin in the air using a Fury Cutter aimed at her opponent.

Charon ~ level 91
Charon smiled to himself as he watched the grovyle lunge at him. in his crazed state, with his agility and electricity pumping his muscles she seemed so... Slow... It was laughable really.
The raichu quickly sidestepped, spinning around viciously, whip-like tail glowing as he aimed it into the stomach of Nanali... An iron tail... And with the speed of both opponents fixated on their target, would be devastating... Like a proboxer smashing his fist into the stomach of a charging three year old.

Pain blossomed and formed a metaphorical mushroom cloud as the Raichu used Iron Tail on her stomach. The Grovyle went flying, hitting the charred tree across the clearing with a sickening thud. The force of the blow was so hard, and the tree so weakened that it actually snapped in half and toppled over, thankfully not on Nanali. But at this point she didn't care. Pain. It was everywhere. It was so dominating at the moment that it had crossed senses and made her see white spots bloom in her vision and the world to blur. But after the pain started to dull an equally strong sense came to replace it.
Hatred.
<"I've..."> She gasped, <"I've had enough of you chus!"> The Grovyle growled, using Absorb to sap energy from the Raichu. <"Your kind is nothing but trouble! You worthless RAT!"> Nanali dug her claws into the ground and started sapping energy from everything. The trees, the plants, even the tiniest bug was not safe from her Absorb. She was in a frenzy of hate and it blinded her; she who's species was supposed to protect the forest, but as she bared her fangs at the electric mouse across from her, the forest around her died.

Charon ~ level 93
Charon growled as he felt a small amount of his life force drain... It wasn't a terrible blow, but it weakened him enough to where he at least a smidgen of his mind was starting to come back... The thunderbolt he unleashed earlier helped a little too...
The raichu started shaking his head in confusion, and his amber eyes widened... The forest around the two combatants was dying... The laves in the grass and treas were turning browner than usual and wilting... The strange putrid scent of rotting plant life was plainly noticeable.
"<Wait... Stop...>" Charon said in alarm. "<Your killing everything! Let it go! It's a draw, a truce! You don't know what your doing!>" The raichui bared his teeth, mind clearing. "<Stop before I have to make you stop!>"

<"Shut up!"> Nanali growled. All she could see was her opponent, she didn't realize her anger was making her Absorb grow erratic. <"You're just a coward- just like that other chu. Well I'll show you, rat."> Using a Quick Attack, she finally broke off the Absorb to slam her body into the Raichu. <"I'm tired of all you chus. I'm sick of it."> She said, trying to drain more energy from her opponent again.

Charon ~ level 95
Charon grunted and gritted his sharp teeth at the charge, but he planted his powerful hind legs into the ground and refused to budge. He hissed as he continued to feel insignificant amounts of his energy get drained... He was more worried about the environment around him... But what to do?
The raichu sighed. "@#%n it all." He cursed as he grappled the grovyle with surprising and probably terrifying strength for the grass pokemon, raising her up, and then just started sprinting, legs blurring. Trees blurred past until Charon hurled her into a nearby stream that ran through the forest, away from their current area, causing a tremendous splash.
Raichi just folded his arms and stared down into the water, amber eyes narrowed and orange brow raised quizzically... Nothing like ice cold winter water to wake you up after all.

Everything was a blur. One moment she was being whisked through the forest, the next- splash! Water filled her ears and nose, stung her eyes, and choked her air. With a few swift kicks she was at the surface, cough and gasping for air. <"What was that for!?"> She growled, shooting daggers from her eyes at the Raichu. Cold water. She hated getting wet and being cold. <"Stupid rat. Now I'm gonna catch a cold and it's your fault.">

Charon ~ level 95
"<Look plant head, you started this whole thing when I was discharging... And since it was interrupted, I got a little crazy okay?>" Charon stated bluntly. "<But you... You just took out a huge section of the forest... I took a tree out... But you were sappin' the life out of everything around you!>"
Charon snorted. "<I threw you into that water to wake you up... You were gonna kill the entire forest at that rate. I'm no tree hugger, but I'm not going to let you go as far as you were... I thought you grass types had some kind of connection to plants?>"
The raichu shrugged. "<Regardless, you and I are going back to try and reverse the damage as much as possible... Or... More importantly, you are, and I'm going to make sure you do so. No idea why you wanted to pick a fight with a raichu anyway... Most people know better>"

OOC: Sorry to barge in, but Umbra since this was made after Charon only gains two levels for the entire battle; not two per post. Sorry if that was confusing.

Maria~ Level 45
Maria awoke, yarning alittle with her curve-like tail rubbing the top of her head with her ears lowered on both sides. Her dark black eyes were half open as she sat up, shaking her tail slowly with another yarn and turned her sight to where Charon was. {"Good morning Charon."} She spoke sleepily, yarning yet again and soon her eyes opened fully.
{"Charon?"} She said again, looking to find his nest still there but he was nowhere in sight. {"Charon!"} She yelled, shaking her head and quickly dashed out of the den with a look of worry on her face. She made her way across the meadow and soon made her way down the dirt path, nearly falling over on a fallen branch. Her mind raced about Charon and slowly wondered if it was her failt that he went away.
Maria stopped by a nearby tree, breathing hard with her ears dropping to each side of her head. {"Charon....What the?"} She said, looking up to find part of the tree burn and small sparks shooting from one side of the tree. {"How did this happen? Wait a mintine....Charon!!!"} She yelled, quicking moving again down the dirt path with her eyes now bursting in anger.

Nanali growled and dragged herself out of the water before shaking herself dry. She was still cold, and now she was starting to shiver. Blasted chu. <"I don't know what you're talking about you stupid chu."> She snapped, <"Killing the whole forest? Impossible! Why would I do that? You on the other paw, you I can imagine zapping trees for fun. Discharging. Hmph. What a waste of power."> There was a shout in a language she didn't understand, but she knew who cried it. <"That's another chu, isn't it?"> Nanali sneered. <"Your kind is just all over the forest, aren't you? Roaming around like you on the place. This forest used to belong to the grass-types, you know; now we have hoards of chus wandering around."> The Grovyle sniffed and eyed the Raichu warily, <"And I suppose you and your little chu friend are going to join the others. Hmph. Figures. You chus were never strong enough to last on your own merit. At least your little band won't be spread all around the forest now, though. Maybe now I'll stop running into your kind and start seeing some new pokemon for a change.">
