Fang- Level 1?
The water was calm today near the Azure River... The clear waters moved slowly and sluggishly as it emptied near the expansive, mirror-like Saphire lake. The sun was out... And it was warm. In the forests surrounding the area, bird pokemon chirped and sung. Bug pokemon, mainly yanma, zipped over the water, while combee pollinated the meadowy flowers.
But something was bobbing in the water... A spherical, obsidian black egg the gentle waves brought it to a nearby muddy bank, and the egg was beached there... Just waiting...
Silver walked on through the expanse of grass near the river, along with Casey. It took some convicining, but the white haired trainer finally got him to come out of the castle area... Though he still clung to his scizor.
Suchi didn't seem to mind this treatment at all, keeping the little boy close to her almost protectively.

Casey clung nervously to Suchi ever since they'd stepped outside the palace walls. It'd been two years since he'd been outside and in short it was frightening. Every rustling bush, every cry of a wild pokemon made him cringe and cling to the female Scizor tighter. Ever since Casey met Silver and his pokemon in the Cameron Stadium the boy quickly found a friend in not the other human, but the pokemon as well. He was still extremely shy of course, but he no longer felt like a Shuckle hiding in an iron shell of stoicism. He wasn't afraid to feel any more, but he didn't think he was ready to go anywhere without Silver or Suchi any time soon. Thankfully Silver had been visiting him frequently and it put an unexpectedly pleasant surprise in the days that he did.
This day was different though. At the moment he was horrendously terrified of the outside world. Casey could remember only so clearly the day his mother had failed to return to her shopping trip in the city. Thankfully, per his request, they didn't linger long in the more urban areas of the city, so here they were on the banks of the Azure River, wading through reeds and tall grass. The boy seemed to be obsessively avoiding sticks, mud, and water, which forced him to take large steps over puddles or branches. If a puddle was too big to step over he would go out of his way to walk around the mud and water while still trying to hold onto Suchi's claw. It seemed that Casey only emboldened the saying, "Don't take a city kid into the woods".

"I don't think anything is going to bother us Casey... Especially with Suchi around. They know better." Silver informed with a confident smile, taking note of the little boy's nervousness... If not outright fear.
Suchi kept Casey close to her... It was strange, but nthe scizor felt mild maternal instinct kicking in. She didn't know she was even capable of that... Not that she was one to complain. Very few people willingly held her pincers... too nervous, too afraid. True... She could easily cut through trees... But there were times when Suchi wished less to be a warrior... More of a gentle being.
Unfortunately for casey, his mud and puddle antics almost caused him to trip over a hard, sturdy object. "Watch out, you almost tripped." When Silver looked down though, his brow furrowed at the obsidion black stone that glinted the sunlight as it lay in the mud... About slightly smaller than a basketball.

Casey grunted with surprise as he almost tripped on a large, round object. Looking down he saw that it was black and smooth-looking, definitely not a rock, or at least probably not. The boy bent down and picked up the object and gasped. Now that it was out of the mud he could clearly see that the shape was elliptical and lopsided. Casey used his sleeve to wipe off some of the mud and said quietly, "Is it an egg?" Cautiously, he tapped on what he presumed was the shell. It sounded solid, did eggs sound solid? Did Pokemon even lay eggs? Casey thought of an Umbreon like Umbra and couldn't imagine a furry Pokemon like that laying an egg like the one he was holding. "I didn't know Pokemon laid eggs..." He said, buut then what else could lay something so big?

Silver curiously tilted his head at Casey holding the object... It WAS an egg. "Well..." Silver said as he stroked a hand over the smooth surface. "I've seen eggs before, and that is definately a pokemon egg... But none I've seen... Usually reptilian, bird, fish, and bug pokemon lay eggs... Though some mammallian ones lay eggs as well... But that egg looks almost reptilian, as it is pretty large... But that wouldn't make sense, because reptilian eggs like charmander and treecko have a leathery, soft feel to them... That shell is polished and rock hard."
Silver put an ear to the surface frowning slightly. "I think it's dead Casey... Otherwise the parent wouldn't have left-" He didn't get to finish... As he slowly tilted backed up. "I heard a chirp..." He informed, blue eyes wide.
Suchi blinked her yellow eyes at the egg. "<I can feel extraordinary potential inside.>" She informed quietly, though it was more to herself...

Casey put his ear to the egg and listened closely. He stayed with his ear pressed closely for a while, and just when he was about to pull back he heard it. A muffled, but undeniable, chirrup. Casey pulled his head back and looked at the object with wonder. In his hands he held a little life, all alone in the world. The boy looked around worriedly. "Where's its mama?" He asked, searching for any sign of other pokemon, but none were found. Was this egg missing his mama too?

"Not around." Silver said solemnly, yet with a bit of grimness to it. "Otherwise we would know almost immediantly after picking it up... Plus it was on the bank, in the cold mud. It's either abandoned, something happened to it;s parents, or the egg got misplaced..."
A pause. "We can't leave it here... It will die in the cold. Plus another pokemon may get it for food. I have a one egg incubator at my apartment... I've never used it yet... And it's closer than the pokemon center."

Casey nodded but didn't look away from the egg. It felt so lonely and cold, it felt like he did. The boy hugged the egg closer and rested his chin on it. He didn't want the egg to die, especially if it was big enough to chirp at them.

A hand gently rested on Casey's shoulder. "Here... We will take it to the apartment quickly... Get the egg warmed up. I'm sure you would like to see the gang again. And they can help hatch the egg. Pokemon eggs develop quicker when other pokemon are present near it."
Suchi tilted her head at the black obsidian colored egg with sharp yellow eyes, before glancing at Casey, and then Silver.
The trainer looked thoughtful. "Suchi could quickly transport the egg. She could also move you, but I don't want her to drop you by accident... When she gets it to the apartment, it would in a warmer, safer place before we got there..."
But Silver raised a white eyebrow. "But it's up to you, seeing as the egg is yours."

Casey looked up at Silver with surprise. "My egg?" He asked. True he was holding it and wanted it to live, but... His egg? The boy looked back at the egg, then back at Silver, then at Suchi. Without breaking eye contact he walked over to the red bug pokemon and handed her the egg. "Take care of it, Suchi. We'll see you soon," Then he turned to Silver. "I don't know if it's my egg or not Silver..." He said, kicking at the dirt.

Suchi nodded silently, cradling the dark object to her body tenderly, yellow eyes thoughtful. She had been given a task, and she would carry it out. The female scizor nodded, unfolding her wings to their tru majesty... Then, without so much as a disturbance on the ground, she vanished...
Silver watched her go with emotionless blue eyes before he turned to Casey with a smile. "I think if that egg survives, it will be good for you Casey. Whatever is in it."

((Umbrea, please spoiler your signature image. It's making pages take forever to load for me D:))
Out of a nearby tree falls a sandshrew, which lands in a heap on the ground. He was up there trying to figure out simply what was up there, and slipped off the branch. The sandshrew quickly sits up and rubs it's head. <"Owww...Why did that leaf have to be there?"> He doesn't stay seated for long - he quickly sits up and paces back and fourth, befure turning arround and walking twards the river - before stopping in mid stride. The Sandshrew stares at the humans, and forgot how to walk. This is the first time he's seen a human, and the horror stories he's heard all came rushing back to him - he gulped and tried to back away, but tripped over his own feet and landed on his back with a light thud.

"Good for me?" He repeated. How did Silver expect him to be able to take care of a baby pokemon? He was too shy, and what if it didn't like him or he hurt it. What if it hurt him? Casey gulped and was about to argue his case more when he heard a thud. The boy looked over and jumped. There, lying in the dirt, was a sandy-colored pokemon. It had claws and big eyes and a hard, brick-patterned back. The boy stepped behind the larger boy and peered at the pokemon from around the side. "What is it?" He whispered frightfully.

Silver chuckled, the white haired trainer contemplating the little grount type with bemusement. "It's just a little sandshrew. Nothing really that dangerous. In fact, it's more scared of us than you are of it."
The trainer then turned to Casey. "Come on... Lets leave it alone for now and head back. See if that egg will be alright."
OOC: Ugh... Not much muse there... In fact, I'm ready to end this thread.
