It was dark in the forest. Much darker than usual, for no moon was out tonight, and the stars seemed to be blocked out by the trees. Scarcely a sound could be heard inside the forest, aside from the occasional chirping of crickets. If one payed really close attention, they would notice a shadow flying - no, floating - soundlessly through the trees. The shadow was shaped like a Shedinja, for that is indeed what it was.
The Shedinja was named Husk, and he had a problem. He was bored out of his mind. He coudn't think of anything to do at the moment, so he was just...wandering, like he normally did. He did, however, have one idea. However, it was not something he could do alone, and it would not work if anyone knew he was there. Thus, he floated a bit higher than normal, letting his Halo go through the leaves of the trees to hide it's glow, and continued searching...

``A C E the pidgey ~ level 11
Flap.
From above the Shedinja, a brown blur flew by, lighting in a tree near the Bug Pokemon. Amber eyes blinked and the Pidgey's head tilted slightly. This was new...he had never seen a Shedinja before. Should he approach it? It didn't look like a very social type of Pokemon, but you never knew. Undecided, Ace stayed in the tree, watching Husk silently with his piercing, oddly-mature gaze.
OOC: Shortshortshort but I gotta go. ^-^"

((OOC: What's wrong with short post? Sometimes short posts are better than "Novel Posts" as I call 'em ;D))
Husk heard a light noise somewhere above him, and could of grinned. He stopped in midfloat, and extended his shadow from the ground to behind and up the trees, until it stretched behind the watching Pidgey. He began floating lower to the ground, and speaking in a calm tone. "It's not a good idea to spy on others. They may get..."> At this point, he actually went into the ground below him and came out of the tree at the other end of his extended shadow. <"...angry."> For added effect, he did a Nightshade arround the area to scare Ace, but not actually hurting him. He was just joking with the Pidgey. He woudn't really hurt it without a reason.
((OOC: Note - he didn't exactly know where Ace was, so feel free to make him look stupid by saying he appeared in another tree instead of behind him, like he was planning. ;P))

OOC: Lol x3
When the Shedinja began talking, Ace still managed to remain silent, still curious but cautious as well. When it suddenly disappeared and a Night Shade appeared, however, the Pidgey winced and closed his eyes, preparing to be hit with the attack. When no pain came, however, the Tiny Bird Pokemon reopened his eyes and after a short pause turned to look for the Bug Pokemon. Where?...ah. There he was. The Shendinja was floating by a tree next to Ace's (he wasn't sure if that was planned or not...)
The Pidgey was quite intrigued. The bug was a bit creepy, as it looked so...rigid. How did something like that fly, or move, for that matter? Or did it just float? Ace had heard they were part-ghost. And the glowing halo above his head interested Ace as well. What was the purpose of that? And the size of the Shedinja...great Arceus, that thing was twice as big as he was. That was a disturbing thought...a bug was bigger than he was.
After a few moments of silence, Ace figured he was supposed to say something. <"I wasn't spying on you, sir,"> the Pidgey said bravely, no hint of fear in his voice. <"I was waiting to see if you were friendly or an enemy. Since you didn't attack me when you had the chance, would I be correct to assume that you are friendly? My name is Ace. What's yours?">

Would have grinned if he was able to. He would of thought for sure this Pidgey would have taken flight and got away from him as fast as possible. The fact that he stayed put told Husk he woudn't be able to scare him off, so he decided to stop trying. He floated twards Ace in his normal slow pace, stopping when he was close enough to not have to shout. His Halo at this point reached a clearing in the leaves, allowing it to shine down enough light so they could see eachother clearly.
<"So you weren't spying...to be honest, I didn't really care. I was just pointing out a common truth. And you assume correctly - I don't fight without a reason. I am called Husk, and to be honest, I'm suprised my...entrence didn't scare you. What compelled you to stay?">

The Pidgey shrugged at Husk's question. <"I didn't run because I didn't have any evidence you were going to hurt me,"> Ace said calmly, stopping for a moment to preen his wing feathers. <"By the time the Night Shade came, I didn't exactly have time to run anyway. But you didn't hurt me then either, so I was safe, and thus, I didn't have to run.">

((OOC: Did I mention this post was eatten twice? A bit shorter than it was first two times due to frustration.))
The Shedinja nodded (which actually was a sort of full-body bow). "So you used logic and stayed calm...I can safly say I havn't met much pidgeys who act like you. So tell me, what are you doing out this late at night? Should you not be in your nest, asleep?"

ooc; That's really weird...I dunno what might be causing that...
If the light had been better, and if you could see a Pidgey blush through the feathers, Ace probably would have looked rather red. <"Well...yeah...I was supposed to be home hours ago,"> Ace admitted. <"I was helping some Rattata...Cutting down a dead tree so they could use it as a home. I thought it would be good training, too...I know how to use Steel Wing because my grandpa was a Skarmory, but I'm not very good at it. It took longer than I thought it would...And I fell asleep on the way home, since I was really tired.">

((I declare this the slowest progressing thread in the world! [As well as the one that makes me the most braindead. Bleh.]))
The Shedinja simply floats. He probably would have nodded or blinked or something, if he had eyes or could move his husk of a body. <"Oh? Well, it's nice to see one so young helping others out. But your parents are probably worried about you. You should hurry on to your nest....what did you say your name was again?"

The Pidgey nodded, still blushing slightly. Husk was right. His mother would probably be furious -- but more than that, worried out of her mind. He really should be getting back as soon as he could...as long as he didn't fall asleep again along the way.
Ace was jolted out of his thoughts by Husk's question, and he tilted his head as he looked as the Bug Pokemon. <"My name's Ace,"> the bird Pokemon replied to the Shedinja's question.
