If one were to look in the busy crowd of Cameron city, one may notice a girl with long black hair, wearing a pale blue coat and dark blue boots with jeans, as well as an Espeon with unusual golden eyes beside her. The girl kept her head a bit down, looking at the ground, yet she never bumped into anyone. The Espeon was right at her side, honey-colored eyes fixed forward. They said nothing -- or so it seemed...
"I wonder why Silver wants to see me," Rain wondered, directing her telepathy to the Espeon beside her. "I mean, he said he had some stuff from Professor Elm, but why not ask Lillian?" A worried tone came into her 'voice.' "Do you think I should have asked her to come along?"
<"I'm sure it'll be fine,"> Lily reassured the girl. <"If he needs to talk to Lillian, I'm sure you can arrange a meeting for them or something."> The Espeon looked up with a kind, almost motherly smile. <"Stop worrying so much.">
Rain smiled back, a soft expression on her face. "I guess you're right." The girl looked up; they were now in a less busy part of the city, apartments lining the streets. "Should be around here," Rain mumbled, looking the the numbers on the doors. The two went up a path, searching for Silver's apartment number.
Finally, they found the correct apartment, and Rain stepped up, ringing the doorbell.
Ding-dong.

As the door bell was rung, muffled voices could be heard through the door, along with some scrambling... Eventually, the door opened, though there didn't appear to be anyone at first until you looked down. Sitting there was a very annoyed alakazam, but once he gazed at Rain, he looked apologetic. <"Sorry."> He commented to Lily sagely. <"encyclopedia salesmen earlier... Don't ask..."> An amused smile appeared on the fox-like face. <"Your early. The teas not done yet. You can wait in the living room... Silver is talking to someone on the computer at the moment. Please take a seat Rain. I know you probably understand me anyway.">
The alakazam pointed to a neat little room, with a small circle of blue couches and chairs. Picture frames of various pokemon hung on the cieling, and an old T.V. was in the back corner... Umbra, was curled up and dozing peacefully on one of the couches that was in a sun beam from a nearby window.

<"Your early. The teas not done yet. You can wait in the living room... Silver is talking to someone on the computer at the moment. Please take a seat Rain. I know you probably understand me anyway."> [/i] Rain and Lily exchanged a quick, worried look -- in a moment, however, both looked back up, and the action was barely noticeable. Still, Rain was definitely tenser, her hands clenched slightly. Still, the girl walked into the living room, and Lily followed, after a curt nod and a quick <"Thank you"> to Theo. The two sat down on a blue couch, Lily jumping onto Rain's lap and curling up there. The girl absentminded began stroking the Espeon, slowly and gently moving her fingers through the Sun Pokemon's soft, silky fur. "How does he know?" she 'said' to Lily, her tone full of concern. Lily looked up with reassuring but worried eyes. <"I'm sure it'll be fine,"> she replied, although her voice wasn't completely confident. After all, Psychic Pokemon were very sensitive and could, to an extent, read some aura... <"Don't worry too much. He doesn't know for sure, and if you stress to much, you'll just end up giving yourself away."> Rain gave a small nod, closing her eyes and breathing slowly, trying to relax herself.[/blockquote]

Umbra, hearing the conversation, opened his silver/red eyes lazily, giving a wide yawn, right ear twitching as he did so. He then blinked in surprise at Lily and Rain, before smiling. "<Goood morning!>" He chirped, stretching on the couch and landing on the carpeted floor gracefully, black pelt rippling with muscle. He then sat down and tilted his head at Lily with sly smile. "<I see you came to visit me as well... You didn't have to... Is there something behind this afterall perhaps dear Lily?>"
Theo stroked his "beard" curiously as he strolled down the hall, small smile on his face. Nothing is for sure... But the way she reacted reinforces my theory... Interesting... The alakazam was in the kitchen as he glanced at Kriss on the table, who was staring down at him with a small frown. <"I'm right aren't I?"> She demanded impatiently. Theo shrugged. stubby claw-like feet tapping as he walked across the tile floor to the window, to look at the street below. <"You are right dear Kriss... As my suspicions were the day we met at the mall, there is something extraordinary about the girl..."> The sableye bounced on the table impatiently. <"AAANNNDD?"> She asked. The alakazam turned to her with a satisfied smile. <"And what? I merely wanted to sate my curiosity. Until we learn exactly if she can communicate with us or not, and the how far she can do so, we have little... The Rain girl keeps her gift secret regardless. If she does so, then she must have an important reason to do so.">

Rain's eyes remained closed -- the girl was deep in thought. The Alakazam suspected her, no doubt...he seemed quite sure of himself, actually. Should she continue to pretend? It would keep the air of uncertainty, but it would also mean that her secret would be more likely to be revealed if she kept tensing and especially if Theo continued to talk like that. At least no one had been there to hear him then...humans wouldn't understand him anyway, but Pokemon would, and Rain didn't need every Pokemon knowing her secret, especially those that belonged the trainers.
Would it really hurt to affirm Theo's suspicions? After all, the Alakazam already seemed like he knew. Telling him would only cement the theory, and perhaps then he would not say anything about it anymore...or it would work the other way around and there would be more talk about it. But even if he did, people wouldn't understand him...Rain let out a sigh. To some, her gift may seem like a wonderful thing, but for Rain, half the time it was a burden.
Lily, sensing Rain's distress, flicked her tail, brushing it over the girl's hand reassuringly. When Umbra awoke, she turned to the Umbreon, smiling. <"Hello again Umbra. A pleasure to see you again..."> A sly grin. <"Of course, I came here to accompany Rain, but seeing you is fine as well.">

Umbra laughed whole heartily at this with barks. {"Well well well... She has a sharp tongue she does."} The young umbreon grinned at the pretty espeon, then sighed. {"Alas, we will have to save talking for later."} For the first time, the umbreon looked dead serious. "{Do ya or your trainer know why your here yet?"} He asked.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, the sableye snorted in disbelief. <"Elmy said that other pokemon that left the region recently are sick Theo. I mean, violent behavior when it progresses, die soon after. This is scary. And the girl could be used to figure out where it is originating from.">
Theo nodded. <"I am aware... But until we know more, there is little point in me talking to Silver about it...">
Speaking of the young man, the white haired trainer was walking calmly in the kitchen, wearing long blue jeans and a hoodie jacket and white T-shirt. On his feet were just socks as he went over to the boiling kettle on the stove, pouring out green tea into two cups with a look of intense concentration in his blue eyes. He then opened a little package of cookies and put a few on the plate along with the two cups of tea, and said a quick greeting to Theo and Kriss before walking out into the main room with Rain. He smiled when he saw her, and gently laid the tray on the coffee table between them, before sitting on the sofa opposite of her, and smiling. Umbra jumped up into Silver's lap, and the silver haired trainer stroked the black furred pokemon. "Good morning... Would you like some tea? I'm sorry I couldn't get out sooner... I was trying to finish up conversations with my father and professor Elm."

If someone were to sit on the couch,it would problaby have been the last time they ever did,for sleeping there was buizel.A high leveled buizel at that too. - Jet opened an eye as voices stirred him awake. He sat up,looking around. He spotted a black-haired girl and a fairly pretty espeon. But enough about that...why were they here? The grumpy buizle jumped off the couch in time to see Umbra flirting with the espeon.Like he's very attractive.Jet thought, flicking his tail.<"Anyone want to tell what the heck is going on here?">The buizel snorted, walking over to the minor crowd.Like he cared anyways.

{"Do ya or your trainer know why your here yet?"} [/i] Lily tilted her head at the Umbreon's sudden serious attitude. Based on what she'd seen of Umbra so far, that had to mean something. {"No...as a matter of fact I don't."} A worried expression. The Espeon was about to say more, but at the moment, Silver walked in. "Good morning... Would you like some tea? I'm sorry I couldn't get out sooner... I was trying to finish up conversations with my father and professor Elm." [/i] Rain gave a small smile at Silver as he walked in, giving the boy a small nod. "Oh, don't apologize. It's fine, really. We haven't been waiting too long." The girl picked up one of the cookies, breaking it in half and giving half to Lily, who took it appreciatively. Rain, meanwhile, picked up a cup of tea and took a sip before fixing her deep blue eyes on Silver. "So, what did you want to talk about?"[/blockquote]

Silver hung his head for a second before taking a cup of tea, sighing as he did so. For comfort, he gently petted his umbreon's head... Who was currently watching the espeon and her trainer... Silver/red eyes somewhat sad.
The trainer took a sip before finally stating. "Frankly, I was kinda hopeful we wouldn't have to move on to such a dark topic as quickly... But I suppose it is for the better."
Another sip and the trainer turned to Jet who woke up on one of the sofas. "Good morning Jet... I suppose you should listen. I'm going to be bringing you as well."
At that moment, Theo and Kriss walked into the room, sitting down near Silver... The serious expressions on their face was rather obvious as they gazed at rain... Blue human eyes... Piercing alakazam eyes... Glinting jewel-like sableye eyes... And Umbra's glinting silver and red eyes.
"Professor Elm had contacted me when he learned I was in this region... the professor from Hoenn has received a disturbing case... Trainers who visited this area came back with dead pokemon, some of them their partners... All succumbed to a bad disease. The disease itself does not kill, but it kills the immune system, leaving something as simple as a cold ending a pokemon's life."
Silver went on. "The strange thing is... The disease is a mutation... Something normally found in plants, not pokemon. The professors are worried about the tree... The massive one in this region, The Tree of Beginning I believe? Anyway, they want someone to go out there and investigate. But not just anyone... The trainers have to be powerful... People are not even allowed in the area without a certain number of gym badges... There are some ancient things in there that carry immense power, and the enviroment can be treacherous for humans."
Silver sighed. "The professors said if action isn't taken, there are three worst case scenarios that can happen... 1, an enviromental collapse occurs in this area... 2, the disease spreads to other regions... And 3,... The disease starts mutating again and effecting humans... Thats why your here, you are one of the most powerful trainers in this area, and unlike me, you actually know the area better."

Jet looked up.Did he say Tree of Beginning?!Jet thought,eyes wide.Many pokemon lived in that tree...including one he knew well.<"Disease huh?">He said slowly,walking towards the humans,arms crossed."All right I'll go with you,but I don't like it."He snorted.

A long silence followed. Rain's gaze dropped, her expression one of immense sorrow. Her blue eyes were misty and unfocused, looking at nothing in particular. Lily looked up at the girl, her eyes full of a similar sadness. <"Rain..."> she whispered, her voice soft and slightly anguished. Finally, the girl looked up, although her gaze was darker and still slightly clouded.
"This disease is nothing new," Rain said, her voice quiet. "Ten years ago, the exact same disease swept through Cameron...it wiped almost all of our population; Pokemon, humans, and plants." A bitter laugh. "The Sickness was not picky in its victims. Even the Tree, which is not a plant but a giant rock formation, was affected -- it has an aura, a life force just like everything else. Everything was dying...it's a miracle that the Tree didn't die. If it had, Cameron, perhaps even the entire world, would have been doomed. All of Cameron probably would have died, and the other regions after it, if it had been for Mew. Even Mew alone couldn't save the region." Yes...it had taken her mother and all her aura, her energy, her life to save Cameron.
Blue eyes closed. "I lost my family to that disease. Lillian, too. Our mothers, our fathers; all gone. Since then, we've devoted ourselves to finding a cure, worried for the day it would return." Rain's eyes opened, and they were full of anguish. "But it's too late. It's already back, and Pokemon are already dying. It's only through luck that people haven't died yet...but they will in a matter of time. We haven't been able to do anything to save them." At the last sentence, the girl's voice fell to a whisper, her tone laced with pain. As a user and guardian of aura, she had sworn herself to protect Cameron, and most importantly the Tree of Beginning...yet now, her entire world was collapsing around her once again, and she was powerless to stop it.

Jet turned to Rain with a brief look of fear, but that didn't last long.<"Many pokemon live in the Tree of Beginning.">He spoke.<"Are you telling me,that they are at risk of getting the disease, which will then spread all across the region?">The buizel asked slowly.Shoot.He had just started to get used to the fact he was caught.

Lily turned her head to look at Jet, her golden eyes grave. <"That's exactly what will happen,"> the Espeon replied seriously. <"Not only the Pokemon in the Tree. All the Pokemon, all the people, even all the plants in Cameron are at risk. Eventually, the other regions. In fact, this disease has the potential to destroy the world.">
